How do I get a direct deposit form?
After your checking account is opened, your Member Service Representative will prepare you a Direct Deposit form to use as needed. If ever you need another Direct Deposit form prepared, you can call or visit a branch to request a new form.
What debit cards do you offer?
We offer contactless capable Visa debit cards. You may elect our standard card, or a themed card. Themed cards include Mascot cards for several local High Schools. These Mascot cards provide a percentage per signature-based transaction to benefit local High School Project Graduations. We also offer Veterans cards that provide a percentage per signature-based transaction to benefit local Veterans Groups.
Is my money insured?
Yes. All accounts at MCT Credit Union are protected up to $1,000,000. This exceptional level of coverage is attained through a combination of $250,000 of primary insurance from American Share Insurance (ASI) and $750,000 of excess insurance from Excess Share Insurance Corporation (ESI). ASI is a credit union-owned private deposit insurer founded in 1974 by credit unions, for credit unions. ESI is a wholly owned subsidiary of American Share Insurance. Not all credit unions qualify for this expanded coverage, and we are proud to meet their standards and underwriting requirements. By members’ choice, this institution is not federally insured, and members’ accounts are not insured or guaranteed by any government or government-sponsored agency.
Do I have to go into a branch to open a checking account?
No. You may apply online, over the phone, via video chat within mobile banking, or in person.
Is there a minimum balance requirement for MCT checking accounts?
No. Your new checking account requires an initial minimum deposit of $5, but there are no minimum balance requirements for any of our checking accounts. You may let your balance reflect $0 if you choose.
^To earn your rewards just do the following transactions and activities in your Kasasa Cash Back account during each “Monthly Qualification Cycle”: 1) Have a minimum of ten debit card purchases post and settle your account; 2) Have a minimum of one ACH debit, or one direct deposit, or one bill pay transaction post and settle your account; 3) Be enrolled in and agree to receive e- Statements. “Monthly Qualification Cycle” is a period beginning two business days prior to the first day of a calendar month through two business days prior to the last day of a calendar month. Transactions posted and settled on the last two business days will qualify for next month’s qualification. Qualification Information: Account transactions and activities may take one (1) or more "Banking Days" from the date the transaction or activity occurred to post and settle to the account and all must do so during the “Monthly Qualification Cycle” in order to qualify for the account’s rewards. “Banking Day” means any business day on which an office of the Credit Union is open to the public for the purpose of carrying out substantially all its banking functions.
The following activities do not count toward earning account rewards: ATM processed transactions, transfers between accounts, debit card purchases processed by merchants and received by our Credit Union as ATM transactions, non-retail payment transactions and purchases made with debit cards not issued by our Credit Union. Transactions bundled together by merchants and received by our institution as a single transaction count as a single transaction for the purpose of earning account rewards. Reward Information: When your Kasasa Cash Back account qualifications are met during a “Monthly Qualification Cycle”, you will receive: (1) 4.00% cash back on debit card purchases up to a total of $250.00 that post and settle to the account during “Monthly Qualification Cycle”. A maximum of $10.00 cash back may be earned per “Monthly Qualification Cycle” and (2) you will receive reimbursements up to $25 for nationwide ATM fees incurred during the “Monthly Qualification Cycle” in which you qualified. We reimburse ATM withdrawal fees based on estimates when the withdrawal information we receive does not identify the ATM fee. If you have not received an appropriate reimbursement, we will adjust the reimbursement amount if we receive the transaction receipt within sixty (60) calendar days of the withdrawal transaction. When Kasasa Cash Back qualifications are not met, no cash back payments are made and ATM fees are not refunded. Cash back payments and ATM fee reimbursements will be credited to your Kasasa Cash Back account on the first processing day of the following “Statement Cycle”. “Statement Cycle” means the period of time for which MCT Credit Union provides a summary of the financial activities and transactions that post and settle to the accountholder’s account. Rates and rewards are variable and may change after account is opened. Fees may reduce earnings. Additional Information: Account approval, conditions, qualifications, limits, timeframes, enrollments, log-ons and other requirements apply. $5 minimum deposit is required to open the account. Enrollment in electronic services (e.g. online banking, electronic statements and log-ons) may be required to meet some of the account’s qualifications. Limit 1 account per social security number. There are no recurring monthly service charges to open or close this account. No minimum balance is required to earn or to receive the account’s rewards. Contact a MCT Credit Union service representative for additional information, details and enrollment instructions. Kasasa and Kasasa Cash Back are trademarks of Kasasa Ltd., registered in the U.S.A.
